Significant efforts on the part of the IES have culminated in the
publication of TM-18-08 "Light and Human Health: Impact on Visual,
Circadian, and Neurobehavioral Responses."
Additionally, the Society is
investigating the potential impact of the third photoreceptor on Mesopic
light conditions. Finally, new research has circadian implications for the
relationship between people and windows in certain architectural
environments. These efforts signal a dynamic shift in the way light should
be considered with impacts extending to economic and energy issues as well.
