HOUSTON SECTION
ADVANCED LIGHTING SCHOOL
September 2012


As we have for many years, the Houston Section of the I.E.S. presents the all new, Advanced Lighting School. The material to be presented is current and the published date of the books provided is 2011 

This school is for those who wish to further their education and knowledge level in the Art and Science of Illumination. These classes are not only for Lighting Designers, but is pertinent for all those who are involved in the art, science, manufacturing, teaching or implementation of lighting. 

As some of you may know, we had to reschedule the Spring Advanced Lighting School because of the unavailability of some of the course material.  We have now been advised that all of the course notes are now available, so we have scheduled the School to begin in September. The initial class begins on Wednesday, September 5, 2012 from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm with a 15 minute break in the middle. These classes will continue each Wednesday for the following eight weeks with the final meeting on October 31st for the final, open book, exam.

      September 19    Vision & Color

      September 5      Daylighting

      October 3           Light & Human Health

      October 10         Lamps & Ballasts

      October 17         Luminaire Design & Optics

      October 31         Lighting Controls for Commercial Buildings 

Those of you that have already registered and paid, your listing is still valid and we look forward to seeing you in September. We are opening registration for additional students for the fall classes.

Register below for your place in this pertinent and interesting series of classes. The total cost, including all class material is $375 for members and $425 for non-members. If non-members chose to join the I.E.S. within the time frame of the school sessions, the Houston Section will reimburse that new member $100 toward the cost of membership. 

You may submit payment by check or credit card. The applicable credit cards are: Amex, Visa, Master Card or Discover. All applications and payment must be in by September 1, 2012. If you choose to withdraw from the class after September 1, there will be a $100 service charge.
